Welcoming Our New Clinical Director – Dr Lister Metcalfe

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Lister Metcalfe as Clinical Director at Your Medical Services (YMS). 

Lister joins us with an impressive background as both a General Practitioner and a highly skilled endoscopist, performing over 800 colonoscopies each year and consistently exceeding JAG aspirational standards. His depth of clinical experience, combined with a passion for innovation and training, makes him a fantastic addition to our leadership team. 

Over the course of his career, Lister has held a range of senior leadership roles — including Clinical Lead for multiple endoscopy sites and mobile services across the South West, and Director of Training at InHealth Endoscopy, where he helped pioneer several new approaches to clinical training. One of his proudest achievements is the creation of the Bristol Endoscopy Training Collaborative, which provides hands-on therapeutic endoscopy training under the South West Endoscopy Training Academy. 

Originally from Cornwall, Lister is also a keen sailor who once renovated a classic yacht and successfully crossed the Atlantic — a venture that perfectly reflects his drive, teamwork, and determination to see ambitious projects through from idea to completion. 

At YMS, Lister will play a key role in shaping our clinical leadership, supporting both our teams and our NHS partners. His focus will include: 

- Strengthening clinical governance and patient safety across all YMS services. 

- Providing support, mentorship, and guidance to our clinicians. 

- Championing collaboration between YMS and NHS organisations to enhance service quality and patient outcomes.
